Minutes of the monthly meeting held on 6th November 2006 @ Sun Inn Trawden

 

Present:   L. Whitfield, D. Whitfield, G. Monkhouse, J. Richardson, C. Hannah,

J. Edmondson, B. Edmondson, ? Valentine

 

Apologies:  J. Duffy, G. McCabe, A. Stansfield

 

1. Treasurer’s Report:

 

Mrs. Edmondson reported that we had:

 

£2,784.70 in the deposit account and

£2,158.26 in the current account.

 

Notification has now been received from the bank that G. McCabe is now a signatory to the account.

 

2. Secretary’s Report:   

 

Managers were reminded about attendance at their respective league meetings as a number of fines had been incurred recently for non-attendance. Contact Gerry if you are unable to attend and we may be able to ensure that someone else can stand in.

 

3. Managers’  Reports:

 

Under 9’s   

J. Richardson reported that they had lost twice to Barnoldswick Town, 5:1 in the cup, but much closer game in their league meeting where they lost a close game 2:0. New strip is ordered and on receipt will go to Text Styles for printing

 

Under 11’s   

J. Edmondson reported that they had lost all 4 of their league matches but that the lads were enjoying their football

 

Under 13’s  

It was reported that the the U13’s had a problem with pitch availability on 5/11/06 when the pitch they had been allocated for their match against Brierfield Celtic was already being played on when the two teams turned up. Will raise at next Warburton’s meeting. (No results to hand)

 

Under 15’s   

Played 4, won 1, lost 3. New players signed on but Chris said that their form was varying widely.

 

Under 17’s   

D. Whitfield reported that they had played 3 matches, winning 1, drawing 1 and losing the other. Playing well but wasteful with chances and have dropped silly points as a result.

 

Bonus Ball:   Last month’s winners: T. Cross (Twice), C. Smith, J. Stansfield and Jessica Duffy. It was decided that the Lotto draw on 23/12/06 prize will be for  £100 (Make sure you’re in credit!!)

 

Other Business:

 

Presentation night had been booked for first Saturday in June (At end of half-term holiday). Palatine Club, Nelson, Benny’s Disco.

 

Social Event ??? Any ideas???  Quiz night???  D. Whitfield to explore possibilities.

 

J. Edmondson reported that in the Blackburn, Darwen and Hyndburn league, referees were being told to clamp down on abusive language. All managers were asked to remind all players re: their conduct when playing.

 

J. Edmondson also reported that he would not be able to attend the next monthly meeting for the B. D. & H League due to work commitments. Could anyone else attend? (6th December @ Furthergate W.M.C. Blackburn {near Tesco’s Blackburn}) Gerry?

 

C. Hannah reported that he needed a medical bag – O.K.’d to pick one up from Samba Sports.
